Description

In this session, we explore the human side of design—how users interact with interfaces, how they think, feel, and behave, and how designers can respond thoughtfully to these dynamics.

We’ll cover:

What is a user interface? – An introduction to how users engage with digital products, through both cognitive and emotional touchpoints. We’ll examine how interfaces shape behavior and perception, and what makes interactions intuitive or frustrating.

Intro to cognitive behavioral psychology – Learn how psychological principles influence design. We’ll introduce the Laws of UX, and how to set clear emotional and behavioral goals to guide your product decisions.

Laws of UX – the smoke and mirrors – Dive deeper into real-world examples where UX laws shape user behavior in subtle but powerful ways. We’ll also demystify some of these “tricks,” showing you when and how to use them ethically and effectively in your own work.

By the end of the lesson, you’ll not only understand how users interact with interfaces, but also how to design with intent, using proven psychological insights to create more meaningful, persuasive, and user-centered experiences.
